Swimming advisories have been issued for the following beaches on the Peninsula: Anderson Beach, Hilton Beach, Huntington Park Beach, and King/Lincoln Park Beach.
Officials say recent testing conducted by the Virginia Department of Health showed bacteria levels in the water exceeded the State Water Quality Standards.
