Two suspects in custody after armed robbery reported near Lynnhaven Mall

Virginia Beach, Va. – Two people are in custody after a victim reported getting robbed at gunpoint right outside of Lynnhaven Mall on Wednesday evening.

Dispatch received a call about the incident at 5:14 p.m on 701 Lynnhaven Parkway.

The victim told police that there were three suspects involved. Officers received a description of the vehicle and they caught up to two of the suspects who crashed and tried to run away.

The two suspects were caught and taken into custody.

They have been identified as 23-year-old Deshawn Lovell Jones and 21-year-old Devonte Davis.

Jones has been charged with two counts of Armed Robbery and two counts of Use of a Firearm.

Davis has been charged with two counts of Armed Robbery, two counts of Use of  a Firearm, Eluding Police and Driving without an Operator’s License.  They remain in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

No further information has been released.
