Hampton, Va. - Crews in Hampton responded to a 15-20 gallon diesel fuel spill at the Downtown Hampton marina on Settlers Landing Rd. A citizen noticed the spill at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday and called police.

Hampton Fire Safety Officer Scott Doggette tells NewsChannel 3 the spill was small and posed no serious hazard. Crews are not able to locate the direct source of the leak because of the shifting tides.

Crews were able to contain it with about 120 feet of harbor booms.

The Coast Guard has been notified and they will investigate on Friday morning. The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has also been alerted.

No injuries were reported.
