Virginia Beach, Va. – Thousands were without power on Thursday evening after a piece of equipment that was damaged by lightning failed.
Dominion Power says over 3,000 customers were affected by the outage including the Virginia Beach General Hospital.
The equipment failed at 4:30 p.m. and crews were able to get power restored an hour later.
