Norfolk, Va. - Officials say a suspicious package found on Somerset Lane in Norfolk turned out to be an instrument that was attached to a weather balloon.
Several streets were closed on Tuesday night and homes nearby were evacuated as crews conducted their investigation.
They say a concerned citizen saw the package in the street and reported it to police.
Units from the Norfolk Fire Department, Navy and Bomb Squad responded to the scene.
All streets are now back open.
