Norfolk, Va. - A gas leak has been reported on N. Fairwater Drive in Norfolk that is now blocking traffic southbound on Hampton Blvd.

Officials say a contractor was on the scene doing work when the gas line was hit outside of a home. No one was inside of that home, but residents in another house nearby were evacuated.

Power has been turned off at 12 homes while crews work.

Virginia Natural Gas and Dominion Power are on the scene.

We'll post more updates as they become available.
