A Marine running in the Jeff Drench Memorial 5K race in Charlevoix, Michigan last Saturday is being praised on social media after stopping during the race to help motivate a young boy to the finish line.
Cpl. Myles Kerr, 19, ended up with the slowest time in his age group, but crossed the line with 9-year-old Brandon Fuchs, who lost his party during the race.
Cpl. Kerr responded to tweets commemorating his act by saying, “I was just doing what any man would do, but thank you!”
