Vacant Chesapeake building burns for second time in a year

Chesapeake, Va. - A building fire in Chesapeake is under investigation.

Chesapeake fire officials tell NewsChannel 3 they received a call about a building fire on Berkley Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they say smoke and flames were shooting from the second story of the building, which was formally Scott's Grocery.

It took firefighters about a half hour to get the flames under control.

There were no injuries.
