Man shot, killed in Carrollton after attacking deputies with knife

Carrollton, Va. - A man was shot and killed in Isle of Wight County after officials say he attacked deputies with a weapon.

It happened shortly after 12 p.m. on Friday, August 9. An Isle of Wight man was shot when he attacked deputies with a knife, officials tell NewsChannel 3.

Isle of Wight Sheriff’s deputies entered the home in the 23000 block of Tara Court in Carrollton to serve arrest warrants for 31-year-old James William Wallace.

Wallace had 20 outstanding warrants: eight misdemeanors for obtaining money under false pretense and 12 felonies for uttering (forgery).

Wallace attacked the deputies with a knife and was shot.
He was transported to Riverside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
