Newport News, Va. – A Newport News tactical team tasered a man at the Mangnuson Hotel on Thursday after he allegedly attacked them.
Richard Thomas Clark III was charged with two felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and one felony count of damage to property.
The team was called to the hotel on West Ave. around 1pm after hearing reports of a disorderly man destroying property in a room on the third floor.
Clark had barricaded himself inside of the room when officers arrived. He was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation after the incident and is currently in the Newport News City Jail.
