Child struck by vehicle near First Colonial Road in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. - Crews responded to the scene of a crash involving a vehicle and three people near the Hilltop section of Virginia Beach, police tell NewsChannel 3.

Emergency Communications received several calls at approximately 12:23 p.m. Thursday afternoon, reporting that a child was struck by a vehicle.

It happened in the Wendy's parking lot near the intersection of Donna Drive and First Colonial Road.

An adult and two children were getting off a public bus, and attempted to cross the street.

The adult and one child were grazed by the vehicle, police say. The other child continued to walk forward and was hit. That child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to recover.
