NELSON COUNTY, Va. – A judge denied bond Thursday afternoon for the man accused of abducting missing 17-year-old Nelson County teen Alexis Murphy.
WTVR reports that the the judge denied bond based on the prosecution’s argument that Randy Taylor is a danger to the community, a flight risk and the fact that he he failed to pay $600 in restitution for a 2005 arson conviction.
Albemarle County charged him with the probation violation for failure to pay, which Taylor’s attorney called suspicious.
The media was allowed into the courtroom after a judge reversed a motion that would have barred media from the hearing. However, the hearing could be closed to the public if the judge deemed that sensitive material may be brought out.
