UPDATE: The N.C. Department of Transportation website (www.ncdot.gov) is now back online.
NCDOT employees are now working to determine the cause of a computer network server outage affecting the NCDOT website (www.ncdot.gov) and bring the servers back online.
All pages of the website are currently down statewide.
That includes online ferry reservations, DMV services and the Traveler Information Management System, which provides real-time information about traffic flow on roadways across North Carolina.
In addition, the outage could potentially impact the department’s email system, affecting employees’ abilities to send and receive messages.
At this time, the department does not have an estimate on how long it will take to fix the outage and restore access to the website. NCDOT will update the public on its progress using Facebook and Twitter.
