Newport News, Virginia – A woman and her four children lost their home after a fire Saturday morning.
Newport News fire units responded to the residence in the 700 block 19th Street at 9:30am.
Everyone was able to make it out out of the house safely.
Fire officials say the fire started in an upstairs bedroom.
There was heat and smoke damage throughout the house.
Due to the extent of damage, the home has been condemned.
The woman and her children, ages three to fifteen, are being assisted by the Red Cross.
