Hampton, Virginia - According to police, Melvin Leon Jones, 52 of Newport News died after he crashed his car into two parked cars, then into a tree.
Police responded to the 200 block of Apple Ave around 12:45pm Saturday.
Police say once on scene, they located Jones who was suffering life-threatening injuries.
Jones was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased at 1:16pm.
Police says Jones was driving a 1990 Nissan Maxima south on Apple Avenue when he hit two cars, a 1997 Infinity and a 2001 Mercury Sable. Both vehicles were unoccupied and parked in front of a house in the 200 block of Apple Ave.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hampton Police Division Fatal Crash Team.
