A man who was reportedly having shortness of breath and chest pains while on a fishing boat had to be medevaced by the Coast Guard near the Oregon Inlet on Thursday.
The 44-year-old man was on a boat called the “Bite Me” and was 35 miles northeast of the inlet at the time.
Someone on the boat called for help at around 2:20 a.m. and crews responded shortly afterward.
EMS personnel also responded to the scene to begin primary care.
The man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
There’s no word on his condition.
