York-Poquoson, Va. – Investigators are searching for suspects wanted for breaking into cars in York, officials tell NewsChannel 3.

It happened on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Officials say at 7:20 a.m., a man smashed a window on a vehicle parked at the Goddard School located in the 400 block of Hampton Highway.

The man was seen leaving the scene in a silver Mercedes bearing a Florida tag.

Deputies were searching the area when Sgt. Simmons saw the suspect vehicle driving down Rt.17. It was then discovered that another similar crime had been committed at the A-plus Child Care Center located in the 3500 block of Rt.17.

When deputies located the vehicle, the suspects refused to stop and a pursuit commenced. During the pursuit, a deputy’s vehicle and a citizen’s vehicle were involved in a minor collision with the suspect vehicle. No major injuries occurred during the collisions, officials say.

The suspect vehicle was later found unoccupied, in another jurisdiction. It has been impounded by Sheriff’s Office investigators.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are still searching for the wanted individuals.
