Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk police have charged a man in a shooting that happened Tuesday night.

Police have charged 27-year-old Deone Montie Love of the 3000 block of Perrone Avenue with Felonious Assault and Use of a Firearm.

It happened on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. At 11:10 p.m., police received a call regarding two men reportedly shot in the 1200 block of Lead Street.

Police say one of the victims entered into his estranged wife’s apartment and struck the suspect. As the victim fought with the suspect, the second victim attempted to remove the first victim from the top of the suspect.

The suspect then fired his handgun and struck both victims.

Shortly after the incident, the suspect, Deone Love, drove away from the scene and turned himself into police at the Police Operations Center.

Both victims were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. At this time, both victims are reported to be in stable condition, police say.
