Update: The victim has now been identified as 54-year-old Charles Lewis Ross of Virginia Beach.
Virginia Beach, Va. - Beach police are trying to piece together a death investigation.
A lifeless body was pulled out of a pond just steps away from Virginia Beach Town Center.
At this point, investigators don't know how long it's been there.
Police pulled the person's body from the water, that's right along a walking trail.
Police have not been able to identify the person. They don't know the age, race, or gender.
They do not know the cause of death yet.
