Newport News courthouses evacuated after bomb threat

Newport News, Va. – Several courthouses were evacuated in Newport News after a bomb threat was made on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say a call was made at 1:10 p.m. to a court clerk.

The Sheriff’s Department used a bomb sniffing dog and also used one from Langely and Ft. Eustis.

The courts are now all cleared.

Streets in the area were blocked but they are now being cleared.

Right now, Washington Street, 25th, and 26th Streets are closed.
