Suffolk, Va. – A Suffolk woman was killed in a head-on crash by a car traveling the wrong way on Rt. 58 in Suffolk Monday night.
Police received several calls at 10:55 p.m. about a car driving the wrong way on Route 58 westbound.Officers tried to locate the vehicle and close the roadway in the area where other drivers had reported the incident, however, at 10:59 p.m. they came upon the scene of the accident.
23-year-old Keairra D. Diggs of Suffolk was pronounced dead at the scene. Her vehicle had been struck head-on by a 2008 Cadillac CTS driven in the wrong direction by 87-year-old Everett Vincent Majette of Portsmouth.
Majette is currently listed in stable but serious condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. State police say charges are pending.
