Virginia Beach, Va. – A 24-year-old sailor has been arrested on child porn charges in Virginia Beach.
Johnathan Messer, who is an Electronics Technician 3 Class- Surface Warfare with the USS Fort McHenry, was arrested by Virginia Beach Police on Wednesday, October 23rd.
Police served warrants on Messner who has been charged with one felony count of production or distribution of child porn, one felony count of use of electronic means for child pornography, and two felony counts of possession of child porn.
He is now in the Virginia Beach City Jail without bond.
According to Newsplex.com, Messner may also be connected to the disappearance of an Albemarle teen.
The teen, who neighbors say is a junior at Albemarle County High School, was reported missing on Friday, October 18th according to Newsplex.com.
The teen’s mother posted on Facebook about her daughter’s disappearance on Friday night.
“My daughter…is missing–I’m sure abducted. She went out to take photos of the moon and when she didn’t come back in right away, my husband found her iPhone in the grass, with moon photos on it, and she is gone. She’s 16, 5 feet, 95 pounds. She was in jeans and a dark sweatshirt. Please help us find her.”
Thankfully the girl is now safe with her family. She was spotted by a neighbor on Saturday morning just hours after she was reported missing.
Police are still investigating this case.
