Newport News, Va. - Newport News Fire crews are on the scene at an industrial accident at Forrest Pine Apartments on Old Courthouse Way where a man has fallen and died.
According to Newport News Fire Department, crews arrived to find a man had fallen approximately 30 feet from a hydraulic lift. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The victim was part of a tree cutting crew working in the area.
According to the family, the victim's name is Edward John Downing, Jr.
The Virginia State Police will investigate the accident.
