James City County, Va. – A teenager is facing multiple charges after James City County police say he pointed a stolen handgun at his 9-year-old brother and 13-year-old sister.
The 14-year-old stole the handgun from his parents, according to Major Steve Rubino of the James City County Police Department.
It happened at their home in the 100 block of Lindrick Drive in the Ford Colony section of the city.
After pointing the gun at his brother and sister, the teen ran to the woods behind the home. That’s where officers found him – but not the gun.
Police don’t know whether or not the gun was loaded.
The teenager has been charged with one count of larceny of a firearm, which is a felony; and two counts of brandishing a firearm. He has been placed in a detention center, according to Major Rubino.
