Former New England Patriot Tony Collins talks to students at Indian River High

Posted

Former New England Patriot Tony Collins was at Indian River High School on Tuesday to talk to the athletes about making proper choices in life.

Collins was a second round draft pick by the Patriots in 1981. The running back was named to the pro bowl in 1983 and helped lead New England to their first Super Bowl appearance in 1986. Collins’ NFL career would come crashing to a halt when he turned to drugs.

He admits he made bad choices in life including the people who were around him. Collins has a book called Broken Road, a story about turning his mess into a message.

We had a chance to talk to Collins after his speech to the students at Indian River.
