Update: NewsChannel 3 has obtained documents that show Harris admitted to having contact with underage girls on Facebook. He told them he had been texting and interacting with them through Facebook and Skype.

Officials seized computers at his home and found 124 videos of child porn and 108 images of child porn. Documents show he was doing this from 2011 to 2013.

He may have had at least 8 victims. Four of them have been located and three are in Virginia. The other lives in Texas but was in Japan at the time.

Virginia Beach, Va. – Daniel Chase Harris, a 30-year-old Navy pilot, is behind bars in Virginia Beach after being accused of having an online relationship with an underage girl in Bedford County.

Officials say he is stationed at Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach.

According to a press release, he was arrested and charged with several counts of using an electronic communications device to facilitate offenses against children and extortion.

Back in July, the Bedford County Sheriff’s office started to investigate the alleged online relationship with an underage girl. They say the girl was threatened if she did not send sexually explicit images of herself.

A search warrant was executed at Harris’ home in Virginia Beach. They say evidence was found and warrants were obtained.

Harris was then taken into custody.

More charges are possible officials say.

He is now being held without bond in Virginia Beach. He’s waiting to be transferred to the Bedford Adult Detention Center.
