James City County, Va. – A 43-year-old woman of Manassas, Va. was killed on Thursday after a two-vehicle accident in James City County.
State Police say at around 3:07 p.m., they were called to the scene of the accident on I-64 westbound.
They say a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country and a 2005 Subaru Outback were involved.
They say when the two vehicle collided, they both lost control and slid into the median.
Officials say Lauren Michele Monroe was driving the Chrysler. She ran off of the road, hit a tree and was partially ejected. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt. She died at the scene.
Carolyn L. Duff, who was driving the Subaru, ran off of the road and hit a high tension wire impact attenuator . The vehicle overturned police say. She was then airlifted to the Medical College of Virginia.
Police are still investigating this incident.
