James City County, Va. – A 54-year-old James City County woman died after a car crash on Thursday evening police say.
Officials say Rebecca Denise Skinner crashed in the 7800 block of Church Lane in the Lake Toano subdivision.
They say she was driving a 2006 Kia Rio going north on Richmond Road when she ran off the road and hit a tree.
She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officials say Skinner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and speed was a contributing factor.
This accident remains under investigation.
