Navy suspends Deputy Commander for alleged connection to bribery case

The U.S. Navy has suspended the deputy commander of Coastal Riverine Group ONE, based in San Diego.

Capt. Chris Peterschmidt, Commander of CRG1, suspended Capt. David Haas from his duties as Deputy Commander after allegations in connection to the ongoing NCIS investigation into the multi-million dollar bribery case involving Glenn Defense Marine.

Capt. Haas has been temporarily reassigned to the staff of Expeditionary Training Group. He will retain his rank.
