James City County administrator fired

James City County, Va. – The Board of Supervisors in James City County announced the firing of County Administrator Robert Middaugh.

The decision was made Tuesday evening in a Board of Supervisors meeting.

James Icenhour, a member of the Board of Supervisors, told us there was a vote of 3-2 in favor of his termination after a motion of no confidence by the board.

Middaugh was brought on as county administrator in 2010. His termination is effective immediately.

Assistant County Administator, M. Douglas Powell, will serve as Acting County Administrator until an Interim County Administrator is appointed or until a new County Administrator is hired.
