A local car dealer has been busted after being caught selling temporary tags without the purchase of a vehicle.
Yen Xiang of Eastern Auto in Norfolk was arrested Tuesday and charged with four felonies related to generating documents under false pretenses.
According to Sunni Brown with the Virginia DMV, someone encouraged DMV special agents to take a closer look at the business.
On November 22nd, DMV agents conducted a full operation and witnessed a set of temporary tags being sold without the purchase of a vehicle.
Law enforcement officials made the arrest on Tuesday and also continued searching the dealership for any documents related to motor vehicle transactions.
Xiang has since bonded out of Norfolk Jail.
