Granby High student arrested at B. T. Washington High for gun possession

Norfolk, Va. – A Granby High School student was arrested Tuesday on the grounds of Booker T. Washington for possession of an unloaded gun.

Norfolk Police say at approximately 2:00 p.m., the School Resource Officer was told that a student that was not believed to be from Booker T. Washington was inside the school.

The school and SRO found the person in question and confirmed that they were a 16-year-old 10th grader from Granby High School.

It was discovered that the student had an unrelated probation violation on file and they were taken into custody.

During a search, an unloaded handgun was found on the student.

He was charged with the concealed weapon. It is still unknown why he was at Booker T. Washington.
