Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Beach police have arrested a man wanted for robbing the Monarch Bank on Lynnhaven Pwy on Tuesday.
28-year-old Joshua Ross Van Effen has been charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
Police say Van Effen entered the bank, handed the teller a note, implied he had a weapon, and demanded money. He then allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money from the tellers before fleeing on foot.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police credit the arrest to numerous tips that came in after a surveillance photo of Van Effen was released.
