Tree takes down power lines in Dare County, over 600 without power

Dare County, NC – About 630 customers are without power after a tree fell and hit power lines in Dare County on Tuesday night.

Deputy Chief Hoggard, with the Dare County Sheriffs Office says the tree fell on a fence and onto the power lines just in front of the Roanoke Island Fire Station.

Hoggard says a transformer also blew in the area.
