Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk police say a woman was assaulted at Ross on Military Highway on Wednesday night.
Calls came in about the incident just before 8 p.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they found that a man struck a woman with his hand while inside the store.
A man, identified as 52-year-old Joseph Dauria, was taken into custody. Police believe the man may have mental issues.
He is being charged with assault and battery and is currently in the Norfolk City Jail.
