Beach Pizza Hut employee accused of carjacking co-worker with pizza cutter, locking her in freezer

Virginia Beach, Va. - Virginia Beach Police say they've made an arrest in a robbery that occurred at a Pizza Hut over the weekend.

It happened at the Pizza Hut located in the 6600 block of Indian River Road. The restaurant was robbed around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.

The victim says a man, who has been identified as a fellow employee, approached her with a pizza cutter and demanded her car keys and phone.

The man is accused of locking the victim in the freezer before stealing money from the business and fleeing in the victim's car.

Police say the victim was able to escape the freezer and call police.

The man, 21-year-old Roberto Jose Marrero, has been charged with two counts of robbery, abduction, and carjacking.

Marrero is currently being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
