Newport News, Va. – A Smithfield man has been charged in a November shooting in Newport News that left one man wounded in the leg.

24-Victor Darnell Robinson Jr. of Smithfield turned himself in at police headquarters on Monday and was charged with Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

Police say on November 29th Robinson and another man got into an argument with the victim in an upstairs hallway of an apartment complex in the 300 block of Circuit Lane.

Robinson allegedly retrieved a handgun from his room and shot the victim, before he and the other man ran away.

The victim, a 38 year old Newport News man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
