Chesapeake, Va. – One man was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Saturday afternoon with serious injuries after his car struck a utility pole and tree in Chesapeake.
The nature of his injuries is unknown.
Police say the man was driving south on Battlefield Blvd. and attempted to pass a line of stopped vehicles.
As he moved into the left lane he sideswiped a Volkswagen attempting to pass the line as well and left the roadway, striking the pole and tree.
At this time police do not know which driver was at fault and the accident remains under investigation.
