Update: Man arrested in Suffolk shooting that wounded two

Update: Suffolk Police have arrested 26-year-old Maurice Boykins and charged him with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm, Reckless Use of a Firearm, 2 counts Shooting into an Occupied Building, and 2 counts of Felony Vandalism.

During the shooting, two unoccupied vehicles were damaged along with two store fronts in the Plaza West Shopping Center. No patrons were injured as a result of the incident.

Suffolk, Va. – Two people were injured after a shooting in Suffolk on Friday night.

Police say the shooting occurred in the 800 block of West Constance Road.

Dispatchers were notified about the incident at around 8:55 p.m.

They say the victims’ injuries are not considered life-threatening. One person is being treated at Sentara Norfolk General and the other is being treated at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Police are still investigating this case.
