A 21-year-old Edenton man has been arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting on Sunday night.

Deputies responded to a call in the Chowan Beach area in reference to a shooting around 8:32 p.m.
Dylan Burton
Deputies arrived at 227 Pamlico Trail to find 21-year-old Dylan Bryne Burton dead inside the residence.
Witnesses say Burton was involved in an altercation with 21-year-old Joshua Wayne Byrum that led to the shooting.
Byrum was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with the murder of Burton.
He is currently incarcerated in the Chowan County Detention Facility under a $250,000 secured bond.
