Virginia Beach, Va. - Virginia Beach Police and Virginia Beach Fire and Rescue have responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Lynden Court.
The fire was in the attic but is now under control. Three adults have been displaced.
Newschannel 3 spoke with a woman inside the home when the flames broke out, she says there were warning signs hours before 911 was called.
"I smelt like smoke or fire and thought someone was burning like firewood or started a pit or something so I did not really pay too much attention to it," said Tori Schuebel.
Schuebel said the smell stuck around for the next two hours and that is when she really started to worry.
"My brother-in-law went up to the attic and they saw flames and so we called 911," said Schuebel.
Firefighters said the cause was electric.
