UPDATE: The body has been identified as that of 63-year-old Nancy Davis-Raymond. A Medical Examiner is working to determine the exact cause of death.
Norfolk, Va. - A body was found in the water in Norfolk on Thursday, officials tell NewsChannel 3.
The body of a white female between the ages of 55 and 65 was discovered floating in the water at the entry area of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Ft. Story on Thursday, January 2, 2014 around 10 a.m., according to a spokesperson for the base.
The body was recovered by emergency personnel from Little Creek, according to Norfolk Police Spokesperson Chris Amos.
The undetermined death investigation has been turned over to the Norfolk Police Department.
