Today in Portsmouth a trial date was set for a mother and grandmother accused of child abuse and neglect.
Kelly and Marjorie Jones are both charged with felony child abuse and neglect because police say they chose not to take Kelly's 2-year-old daughter to the hospital after she was badly burned.
It happened last week. Kelly Jones told only NewsChannel 3 that her mother, Marjorie, was teaching her 9-year-old son how to cook bacon when the pan fell over, and hot grease splashed onto the little girl's face.
Police say they arrested the two women because they didn't immediately take the 2-year-old to the hospital.
The trial for the two women is set for next month.
