Suffolk, Va. – The Department of Public Utilities wants to remind the public that a contractor will be replacing a deteriorated section of sanitary sewer within North Main Street between Western Avenue and Mahan Street starting on Monday, January 13 through Friday, February 21.
The work will require the closure of the interior north and south bound lanes for the period of construction.
The lanes will remain closed during the evening hours.
The outer north and south bound lanes will remain open for single lane traffic through the work zone area. Completion of this work will allow for the Department of Public Works to complete their planned resurfacing of North Main Street during the next paving season.
Variable message boards will be placed within the construction area next week in advance of the work effort.
