Millions of customers were affected during a data breach at Target stores nationwide. Now the Navy says Sailors and Marines who used their Navy Cash/Marine Cash cards at any of these stores between November 27th and December 15th are not liable for any fraudulent transactions that happened during this breach.
According to navy.mil, officers who are on ships with sailors who are affected by the incident have been told to issue new cards.
“We are deeply concerned about the inconvenience the data breach may have caused our Sailors and Marines,” said Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Commander Rear Adm. Jonathan Yuen. “We take this matter very seriously and are doing all we can to ensure our Sailors’ and Marines’ privacy and information is protected now and in the future.”
