UPDATE: Suffolk rescue crews respond to two overturned tractor trailer incidents

Update: The accident on the ramp off of the Franklin Bypass/Route 58 is expected to clear soon. Traffic is still alternating in both directions on the westbound side on Pruden Blvd./Route 460. Crews are still working to right the overturned tractor trailer there. 

Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk police responded to two different incidents involving overturned tractor trailers on Tuesday afternoon.

The first incident happened in the 4100 block of Pruden Blvd./ Route 460 near the Pruden Center.

Police received calls about the overturned tractor trailer at around 1:24 p.m. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Right now, the two eastbound lanes are closed and traffic is being rerouted into one of the westbound lanes. They expect to have the lanes blocked for the next few hours.

The second incident was reported just minutes later at 1:28 p.m. This one happened at the ramp coming off of the Franklin Bypass/Route 58 onto Papermill Road from Franklin.

Right now the ramp is closed. No injuries were reported during this accident.

Police are still investigating both incidents.
