Police search for man who robbed Newport News Shell station

Newport News, Va. - Newport News police are searching for a man who robbed the Shell station and convenience store at 10732 Jefferson Ave. on Tuesday.

Police say a black man about 18-25 years old entered the store around 7:27pm and demanded money at gunpoint before running from the store with the cash.

He is described as 5’3 - 5’6, 140 - 160 lbs. wearing a tan jacket, dark colored jeans,  dark colored skull / knit cap, and white sneakers possibly Nike Air Force One’s.

He was armed with a dark colored revolver and possibly had a mustache.
