Newport News, Va. – A 60-year-old Newport News man has been arrested after being caught allegedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
Newport News Police say they were dispatched to an apartment in the central area of the city in reference to a possible rape on January 11th.
The mother of the 11-year-old victim told police that she observed 60-year-old Albert Jones sexually assaulting her daughter.
Jones was reportedly startled by the mother’s arrival at the home and quickly left the residence.
Jones was the caretaker for the victim and her three siblings while the mother was at work.
Jones was located not far from the residence. He has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery.
