The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for parts of Virginia and North Carolina until 8 a.m. Wednesday.
They say dense fog will cover portions of Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina.
The following areas will be affected: Northampton, NC, Hertford County, Gates County, Pasquotank County, Camden County, Currituck County, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Margarettsville, Ahoskie, Elizabeth City, Edenton, Corolla and Franklin.
The fog is expected to continue until mid-morning.
Experts are advising drivers to slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead.
