A 40-year-old Suffolk man employed at Hampton High School has been charged with assault for an incident at the school involving a 17-year-old female student.

Police say they were notified by Hampton City School Administrators on Tuesday about the incident that had been reported by the student.

The student alleges that on Tuesday at approximately 1:00 p.m., the school employee, identified as 40-year-old San Antonio Crosby, had inappropriate contact with her.

Crosby has been issued a summons for one count of simple assault. He has been placed on leave from the school.

Parents/guardians of students at Hampton High School were notified of the incident via phone call. They say they are cooperating with the Hampton Police Department in the investigation.

Additional details will be posted as they become available.
